Vancouver Half Marathon & 5K

The Vancouver Half Marathon & 5K is a great way to get active while doing something meaningful for the community.

The 2022 Vancouver Half Marathon & 5K is an opportunity to help the Alzheimer Society of B.C. achieve its vision of a world where people living with dementia, their caregivers and their families are acknowledged, welcomed and included – a truly dementia-friendly society.

This year, the event will be held in a hybrid format – you can choose to run in person or virtually at a distance of choice that suits you best! This event is a fun way to kick off the summer season while making a difference for people affected by dementia.

We are very excited about the return of the in-person run to Vancouver on Sunday, June 26, 2022. Join other runners on the scenic route from UBC, as they take in the ocean views of Spanish Banks and end their run in beautiful Vanier Park in Kitsilano. This is a family-friendly event – you can complete a 5K or 21.1K run and children can complete a 1K course.

The virtual component of the event is now active. Participants can choose to walk, wheel or run outdoors, on a track or treadmill from a remote location anytime until June 26, 2022. This year, you can choose from the 21.1K, 5K or 1K kids option. You can do the full distance at once or break it into smaller increments over several days!

Be a part of our team and work towards your common fundraising goal in support of the Alzheimer Society of B.C. Gather your family and friends or enjoy a friendly virtual competition, all while raising funds for an important cause! Please always follow the current public health guidelines from the Provincial Health Officer.

Register today and receive a kit that includes a finisher’s medal, souvenir t-shirt and so much more.

The funds you raise will help provide vital programs and services for the estimated 70,000 British Columbians living with dementia while enabling research into the causes and cures of dementia.

Thank you for your continued support! For more information about the Vancouver Half Marathon & 5K, contact Daria at 604-742-4936 or dpolansky@alzheimerbc.org.

Climb for Alzheimer's

Nearly two in every three people in B.C. are affected by dementia. While there’s no cure yet, together we can make sure no one has to face this disease alone. On September 24, brave 2,830 steps up the Grouse Grind® to show up for and fundraise for people living with Alzheimer’s disease on what can be an uphill journey.
